1926
Jakob Schwaderlapp establishes the Jasba pottery factory in Baumbach with seed capital of 100 Reich marks and a paternal guarantee of 1000 Reich marks.

1956
The eldest son, Alfred Schwaderlapp, comes up with the idea to manufacture mosaics. With the aid of his mother's mincer and a wiper motor, the first extruded mosaics are produced.

 

 

1964
Jasba Mosaik becomes an independent company and purchases a site covering 100,000 m² in Ötzingen.

1967
The Jasba-ANTIK series designed by Heinz Schwaderlapp in 5 x 5 cm format represents a breakthrough making Jasba a luxury brand and trendsetter thanks to the stand-alone features of this range.

 

 

1971
Development of the exceedingly successful Jasba-KARTÄUSER series.

1975
Introduction of the very successful Jasba dollar; demand is so great that customers are obliged to wait up to eight months.

 

1978
Matching towels are available for the Jasba-FLEUR series for harmonious bathroom design.

1984
Jasba exports its first tiles to the USA.
 

 

Jasba Mosaik Serie CREOLA
1992
Watercolour-like glazes are created for the Jasba-CREOLA series. These unique colour progressions are solely manufactured by Jasba. Wet times are extended using liquid wax, enabling colours to run into each other.
1999
Jasba GmbH becomes part of Deutsche Steinzeug Cremer & Breuer AG.
 

 

 
2001
Introduction of the innovative Hydrotect surface finish.
2007
Launch of the new 1 x 1 cm format in the form of the Jasba-LAVITA series.

Product Design Award für Jasba Mosaik NATURAL GLAMOUR
2009
The Jasba-NATURAL GLAMOUR series receives the IF Product Design Award and the red dot Design Award. At the same time, the jury nominates the range for the most prestigious design prize in Germany.
2012
Introduction of the innovative Hytect surface coating. Jasba is the only manufacturer to upgrade its tiles with Hytect. This ensures extremely easy cleaning with a long-term guarantee as well as an antibacterial effect. Hytect tiles also promote the decomposition of pollutants in the air with 1,000 m² of façade ceramics cleaning the air as effectively as 70 medium-sized deciduous trees.

2012
The Jasba brand receives the "Brand of the Century" award. High-ranking brand experts award prizes to items made by German companies which represent examples of an entire product genre and contribute towards the comprehensive image of German brand leadership at international level. Jasba was chosen for the entire category of tiles, joining the group of award-winning German brands in their respective product genres, e.g. Bahlsen, Mercedes, Miele, Nivea, Persil, Steiff and Tempo.
